Budfunding is excited to announce our fall Sustainability Expo Nov. 24th As a guest, you will have the opportunity to interact one on one with sustainability experts, companies, and innovators. The event will include a panel discussion on climate change and sustainable energy development in Alberta. The event runs from 12:30-3:45pm and will look like:

12:30-1:00pm Networking/Booth Interactions.

1:15-2:30pm Budfunding Introduction & Panel Discussion.

2:30-3:45pm Booth interactions.

Barend Dronkers 
Clean Energy Consultant, Energy Efficiency Alberta
Barend Dronkers is a clean energy consultant who works on community energy planning, energy systems modelling, data analytics, clean technology assessment, and policy research and analysis. Barend currently works at Energy Efficiency Alberta in the Portfolio Planning team.


Michael Hay 
Community Energy Advisor, Town of Banff
Michael Hay is a consulting community energy adviser for the Town of Banff. Hay currently manages the Renewable Energy Transition Plan for the Town of Banff — a major planning effort focused on developing a long-term road map to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and potentially achieve 100 percent renewable energy.


Jessica Lof 
Researcher, CESAR 
Jessica is an energy systems researcher/analyst at the Canadian Energy Systems Analysis Research (CESAR) initiative that is led by Dr. David Layzell of the University of Calgary. At CESAR, Jessica is at the forefront of its Future of Freight project; evaluating the potential system-level environmental and economic benefits and trade-offs associated with low carbon transportation while exploring possible transition pathways that are credible, compelling, and capable of reaching climate change targets.


Conor Tapp  
Executive Director, Green Calgary
Conor Tapp, the Executive Director of Green Calgary has been working with charities in Calgary and across Canada for almost 20 years, and serves on the national board of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners.


Kae Shummoogum
Passonate about reducing his carbon footprint, Kae founded Gasonic Instruments 33 years ago to service a growing need for hazardous gas detection and indoor air quality monitoring and EnviroRentals in 1995 to rent environmental testing instruments for both indoor and outdoor environmental consultants.


Dustin Poole
Director of Business DevelopmentGreen Metrics Technologies
Dustin’s time is currently dedicated to sitting on the Board of Directors of two non-profit organizations, that of Passive House Alberta and the GO Technology Foundation, acting as co-lead for EMCO Energy, as well as to the success of Eclipse Sustainability Projects, a company that he co-founded in 2014, and is the Director of Business Development for Green Metrics.
