What I'm Listening to
I'm often listening to audiobooks or podcasts. In the beginning days of my search for a sustainable podcast it was hard to find one that kept my attention for long, but I found one interesting series which lead me to the next and the next. Here are the ones I enjoy listening to:

Bloomberg Environment, "Business of Bees"
Sustainable World Radio, "Ecology and Permaculture Podcast"
Good Together, "Ethical, Eco-Friendly, Sustainable Living"
Eco Chic

What I'm Watching—
Kiss The Ground
This is a documentary film about how the earth's soil is a key in combating climate change and preserving the planet. The film was a Tribeca Film Festival official selection and I have to say the film definitely gives me hope. You can find it streaming on Netflix.

What I Just Ordered —
The Defend Alberta Park's Sign The Alberta government is planning to close 20 parks and remove 164 from the Alberta Parks system. A total of 175 parks will lose protection and Albertans could lose access. This means 37% of Alberta parks will be impacted, 164 parks will have their protected area status removed, 20 parks will be partially or completely closed, and 4,493 campsites could no longer be available. Albertans were not consulted about these changes, and there was no information on how parks were selected to be removed from the system. Alberta’s parks and campgrounds are busier than ever, and there is no evidence that removing parks will save the province any money. Add your voice and support this campaign HERE

What I'm Amazed By —
Strandbeests Evolution
Theo Jansen is an artist and inventor. He is best known for his Strandbeests (beach animals). With electricity tube as the main ingredient, he makes large kinetic creatures that are animated by the wind and move elegant on the beach.

What I Learned Recently —
How much do you know about Tadpoles? Have you ever seen one up close in real life? Through a wonderous mini nature documentary I recently came across, I learned about the epic migration thousands of these little creatures complete daily. It amazes me how much these amphibians change form in their life span. Watch HERE.

October's Tip —
This is one of the easiest food waste tips ever and all you need is 2 fridge drawers. Isn't it the worst when you lose fresh produce in the mix of the fridge and it spoils before you get a chance to enjoy it? Let's stop that from happening. Every time you restock your fridge, move all current produce to the drawer on the left side and that will be your "eat me first drawer," and then restock the right bin with your fresh produce. Do this every time you restock your fridge. Then you can get in the habit of always looking to use up items in your left hand drawer first. This saves you money and saves delicious produce from ending up in the landfill! Thanks @brightly.eco for the tip!

The future is bright,
